From what I hear Aunt Sandra, Uncle
Rick, Reed, Ryan, Randy, Joe and Honey (Sylvia) were able to get
through Hurricane Ike safely. It will probably be weeks before power
is restored. They are on food and water rations right now. It is
unknown if they will need to evacuate due to these reasons-but we are
glad that they are safe right now.
My cousin Will is going to
Rutgers University! He posted something on the Guestbook page-please
join me in congratulating him and wish him luck in accomplishing his
goals.
Julie is doing much better. Her and Mike Sr. will be coming over to the house today to watch the Patriots football game.
September 8, 2008
It turns out that Julie is having problems with
her Sciatic Nerve. We wish her the best and hope that they can fix the
problem soon!
September 5, 2008
Well Julie (Mike's
Mom) is not doing well. She is unable to get out of bad-she keeps
getting muscle spasms. It doesn't look like she will be getting to
work anytime soon. We all hope that she starts feeling better soon!
I am not sure why this starting happening, or the cause-but will keep you posted as I find out more information.

So
we just had a great visit from Dad this weekend. He is heading back to
Maryland today. We posted some pictures of him and Scooter going to
the Dallas Cowboys Football camp in Oxnard, CA. Mike and I will
actually be going to Maryland this weekend to visit with Mom and Dad
for a couple of days (the weekend) which will be nice.
Smokey
had pulled one of his staples out on Friday. Mom took him back into
the doctor-and they told her that they did not get all of the cancer
out. So not so good news about Smokey. We will just be waiting and
watching to see how he does.
Pictures are posted under The Family Photos section. Click the camera picture on that page to get you to the photos.

Happy
August everyone! This month is going to have a lot going on for Mike
and I. Dad comes down this weekend to attend the Dallas Cowboys
Training Camp in Oxnard, CA with Scooter! Then next weekend Mike and I
leave to go visit Mom and Dad! The weekend after that-August 16th is
my little brothers birthday! So this month is going to be pretty
jammed packed!
For those that are wondering-with the
Earthquake this week, very little happened to our house. The
electronics went off and some books fell in the computer room-but that
was it. Smokey pulled through surgery like a champ. He had a tumor
removed from his eye-lid, shoulder and groin area. Smokey has been
pampered since the surgery-but he is ready to go play with Shadow and
Colorado-but can't because he is still healing. So Smokey is living up
the high life by getting to stay inside! We are happy that everything
went so well. The Golini family is doing well-everyone was accounted
for after the earthquake and safe.

Update: 4:39 PM West Coast:
So
I think everyone is doing well. I have not heard otherwise. I am
getting things wrapped up at work so that I can get home..it has been a
long day. My building is built on larger rollers-so moving side to
side was interesting, I felt like I should be in some type of video
game. It was all gentle movement though-nothing that would be
considered a sharp movement. I am really ready to go home though.
Smokey had surgery this morning, so I am anxious to find out how everything went. I will be calling Mom on the way home.
Love you all-Kristin
Update: 2:19 PM West Coast:
Jennifer
finally got in touch with her husband Art. He is okay-the phones were
out where he worked. Julie (Mike's Mom) checked in on the other family
members-looks like they are all okay as well. We still have not heard
from Mike's Dad-but I am sure he is okay-just the phone circuits that
are clogged up. Nothing else to report for right now-we still have not
felt anything else since about 11:45 this morning.
Update: 1:50 PM West Coast:
Mike
was finally able to call me from his cell phone-but I had been unable
to call him. He was at lunch with his mother Julie-she is fine and
went to go check on Jennifer's kids-all of which are okay. We have not
been able to get a hold of Mike's Dad-he might be traveling or having
problems with his phone. I have not heard if Jennifer has gotten in
touch with her husband yet either (Art). They say that there have been
around 70 after shocks-but we have not felt them here. If you want
current information you can go to ocregister.com which is keeping the
updates on their web page.
Mike will be going home soon to check on Daisy.
Update: 1:06 PM West Coast:
I
have not heard from Mike's parents yet. Jennifer, Mike's sister has
not been able to get in touch with her husband. He works close to
where the Earthquake originated from. Here in Irvine, CA we have not
felt anything since the original quake. Our office and the LA office
are still at work. It seems that the phone lines have started clearing
up a little bit. I still can't reach Mike's cell phone-but I did get
an email from him that he is okay.
EARTHQUAKE IN OC:
Everyone
we are okay right now in case you have seen the news. Still trying to
get in touch with the rest of the Golini family-however, Mike myself
and Scooter are all okay. Please don't call the phone lines are bogged
down. I will keep you updated.
We love you all.

Everyone,
my Mom called me today to let me know that Smokey (one of our dogs)
will be going in tomorrow morning for surgery. It turns out that
Smokey has a lot of tumors-the largest one the size of a softball. It
is unknown right now if the surgery will help-or if because of his age
that he will not make it out. You can see pictures of smokey on the
Animal Page. Mom will keep me posted as to what happens. This is a
sad-due to the fact that Smokey has been around for such a long time
with the family.
Please keep Smokey in your prayers tonight as we wish him a successful surgery.

Tonight
is the Memorial Service for Evelyn Golini. Her funeral is on Thursday
the 24th. If you would like to send flowers, she will be buried at All
Souls Cemetery and Mausoleum.

Long Beach, CA 90807

Thank
you for all the prayers and thoughts. Honey H. did a memorial for her
in Ranger, TX this past Sunday. The Golini family was very grateful
for this.
Mom is now back from her trip in Texas, and Uncle
Rick, Reed and Joe are visiting my parents in Maryland. She has lots
of pictures to share!
I am very thankful that this site has
allowed so many of our family to see more of our lives. Recent
additions to the site, were the subscription of Sarah (my cousin). Her
and Lisa both have children that I have never seen, but Mom tells me
that they are adorable and she has pictures to share! Please send
photographs that you have so we can post them on the site. Eric now
knows about the site as well-and he also has a family that I have never
seen-so this is going to be great!
Thanks everyone!

Today
we found out that "Nana", Evelyn Mary Golini, passed away this
morning. Nana was 95 years old-Mike's great grand-mother. As you all
know, Jim Golini passed away July 4th two years ago. Please send your
prayers and thoughts towards the Golini Family as they have had a very
difficult two years. We are thankful that Nana and Jim can be together
and watch over us while in Heaven. Nana was very loved by any who knew
her. I will post information about her services, when they have been
coordinated.
I loved Nana very much. Although happy that she is
in a better place, she will be dearly missed. She could always make me
smile, and her love was always shown loud and clear to those around
her.

I
added some photos to the Family Photos. I found some on my computer
from the Honeymoon that Mike and I took in Monterey, CA. We have more
at home, but decided to go ahead and put up the ones that I had. I
also added some more of the wedding photos-primarily group family
shots.
Our friends Trooper and Rachel get married this Saturday-so we will be there this weekend.

the Grand Ol Opry! They will also be heading up to Bar Harbor, Maine
and going to visit their daughter Jennifer in Mass. There are pictures
of their dogs on the Animal Corner page!
With all this traveling
going on-makes me feel like I should be traveling! lol. I didn't get
the picture page loaded up yesterday-things have been pretty busy, but
I will have it done by tomorrow morning.

Everyone,
Today
is Mike and Julie's celebration of a wonderful 32 years together!
Congrats to the both of you! For those on my side of the family that
is My husbands parents. We wish you the best on this happy occasion!
We love you both!
I will be adding the information for the place
where we keep photos under the "Family Photos" section of the website
sometime today. You will need a password to access the photos-and I
will have a place on there where you can submit that you want the
password. Jennifer Montoya (My hubby's sister) has already submitted
some photos that are posted on that site.
Please be sure to send your pictures of the family as well as your little animal for the animal corner.

Everyone,
So
I sent out an email today letting everyone know about the site. I was
limited on the e-mail addresses that I had with me at work-so if you
got the e-mail please forward it on to the other family members. I am
still playing with the layout of the site, you may see some of the
pages change, or the overall look of the site. Today I added Daisy to
the "Animal Corner" page. It isn't a very good picture of her, but I
will find another one to post soon. Remember, this is not just a
"Kristin and Mike" site. We want to know what everyone is doing! So
just shoot me an email of your latest news and I will get it posted.
Also-any thoughts about what to add to the site would be great as
well. I have not set up the video portion of the site yet, that will
be a little further down the road.
